Our Place to offer New Beginnings Program
Starting in September of 2012, Our Place will offer New Beginnings, an evidence-based program working directly with the parents of children involved in divorce or separation. The program is designed to provide tools to the parents to address multiple issues that may arise in their children's developmental process. Parents will have the opportunity to learn and practice skills to improve the quality of the parent-child relationship, the effectiveness of discipline, reduce exposure to interparental conflict, and barriers to non residential parent-child contact - all of which support healthy child development. The program can be recommended to parents as a part of divorce agreements, modification agreements or by Family Court Judges. It is a ten week series, with separate mothers and fathers groups, childcare will be provided. A modest fee of $15.00 is charged for the workbook.
