Our Place is a non-profit organization, whose mission is to provide education, prevention, and intervention services for individuals of all ages, families, organizations, and communities who are presently or potentially impacted by alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs of abuse.

       Our Place opened its doors in 1981 and officially incorporated in 1986. We continue to provide the region with an array of Programs and Services, which benefits youth, adults, and families.

       Our offices are located in New Albany, Indiana and we directly serve Floyd, Clark, Harrison, and Washington counties. Our Place is the primary contractor for the Afternoons ROCK in Indiana after school program through the Division of Mental Health and Addiction for an eleven county region within Southern Indiana. Known as Designated Service Area (DSA) 14, this area encompasses Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Scott, Washington, Jefferson, Crawford, Ripley, Ohio, Dearborn and Switzerland counties.

       Our Place is a Metro United Way agency and has been since 1994. We are proud to be affiliated with Metro United Way and grateful for their support of our programs. We are also grateful to other local funders that include Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, Harrison County Community Foundation and Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County. Our Place is also proud to be affiliated with the Dare to Care Food Bank and the Better Business Bureau.

       Our Place employs seven full-time staff and two part-time staff that have various degrees and certifications in the fields of prevention, intervention and treatment.

       Our Place continues to strive to meet the needs of our community through the guidance of our Board of Directors and truly embraces the concept that "We can't do it alone but together we can do it all."
