Mission:
The mission of Our Place is to provide education, prevention, intervention, and treatment services for youth, individuals, and families who are presently or potentially at risk due to the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
Vision:
The vision of Our Place is to provide a continuum of services that will meet the needs of the communities we serve, act as a technical resource to other agencies, and be a catalyst in the development and research of comprehensive prevention and intervention services throughout the region.
Dear Friends of Our Place,
Please help us celebrate the fact that Our Place directly served approximately 4,000 Southern Indiana residents with evidence based programming in the year July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007:
Provided afterschool programs (Afternoons ROCK in Indiana) to 267 10-14 year old students in ten schools in Floyd County, 37 youth in Washington County; and provided oversight to the afterschool programs in 9 additional counties which served an additional 766 youth for a total of 1,070 our entire allotment from the Indiana Division of Mental Health Addiction Services.
Provided the BABES primary prevention program to 1,258 primarily second grade students in Clark, Floyd and Harrison County schools.
Provided Project RESPECT, a teen pregnancy prevention program to 1,727 upper elementary through high school aged students in Clark, Floyd and Harrison County schools. In addition, 117 parents and professionals were provided the Living with 10-15 Year Olds, and 40 Developmental Assets curriculums.
Provided services to 135 direct referrals in the Early Intervention Program of Our Place. This program also served 38 family members and significant others of those referrals.
Provided alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse prevention presentations to all athletic teams at Indiana University Southeast, approximately 125 students.
Served 17 adolescents and participating family members in the Journey Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program.
Completed 30 intakes, enrolled 17 and had active participation by 5 adults in Journey Adult Outpatient Program
The following is an overview of Our Places income and expenses for the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2007.
Total revenue and support: $705,856
Program service expenses: $678,159
Management and general expenses: $ 53,234
Fund raising expenses: $ 1,848
End of year accumulated net balance: $ 141,989 (includes balances left in ITPC, capital campaign account and certificate of deposit)
